God forbid anything ever happens to me that requires an immediate police prescence. Every single time I've had to call the sheriff's office, it has taken no less than 45 minutes for someone to get on scene.
Had an incident with an idiot on an ATV tonight, called central dispatch. It took an hour and a half for a deputy to respond. A couple of months ago my wife called central dispatch about some rowdy neighbors loitering in our yard, throwing beer cans around, messing with her car, etc. Took an hour for a response.
WTF are the deputies doing, staying in Wise all the time?

I was at Wal Mart late one night last fall. I walk out of the building to see three Norton cars and two county cars. The emergency? Some guy had locked his keys in his car and they were all trying to gain access through a window.
I've lived in Wise Co. for nine years now. I've had to call central dispatch six or seven times in that period. Nothing life-threatening on my part, although a couple have been due to accidents in front of my house. I have yet to see a deputy show up in less than 30 minutes.

agreed, over at my parents house on Route 72 between Coeburn and Clintwood, where they are doing construction on a bridge, they have a red light up, etc.. we've called multiple times on coal truck drivers running the light and almost running over us sitting in the drive way. Also, a guy lost his tire the other day on his truck, called the police, they NEVER showed up.. NEVER. I hate to say it, but I wish more people would file complaints. We went over the county, and now it's monitored by the State Police.
I've seen 'running' redlights a lot where you are talking about VorD... but it looks like the redlights will be removed soon, hopefully this week..
yep hopefully so.. with the bridge construction done, it's only a matter of time before the trucks tear it apart again
